I would like to get any opinions about what to include on the new site?
I am hopping that I will have sometime this weekend to work on the galleries, but I am not holding my breath.
But I will work on it. Also I would like to add a donate here page. Look at raising funds for prizes. (Also I plan on keeping the site AD free, and very personal, such as keeping a direct e-mail to me available)
I need to still fix the contact us page, but that will go into another category.
Also on Mondays we will do the WDYSPTW categories. (What did you shoot process this week)
I am working on getting articles back online.
Finally, I need to change permissions, for some of the users, so if I forget you let me know what you need. Publisher, editor, moderator, etc.
Talk later.

The site looks great.
Other than the galleries? I think you have all you need.

How about a catergory for discussing photo technique just separate it out from the tools of the trade category which could become a bit of a catch all?

When we get enough hits that we need it I will do it. I am for now trying to keep the categories, small. (Post can be kind of off topic a bit, just fill up the forums, when things get to busy we will spread)

Greetings,
I just joined and am curious why you don\'t use the official 4/3rds logo. Your masthead doesn\'t look bad but I think it would look so much better if it used the official logo. Would it be okay as long as the trademark holder (Olympus, I presume) is credited? If not, then you may be able to side step the whole trademark issue by using a close-up photo of an E-1 which primarily shows just the 4/3rds logo.
What do you think?
P.S. I tried using some of the formatting and Preview buttons as I composed this message and they don\'t seem to be working. I had to create bb codes manually.

First light,
I have not gotten permission to use the official logo. Fourthirdsphoto is not officially affiliated with Olympus or any other organization at all.
If you notice my4/3 did a job on the 4/3 logo on there site, and I do not like that. It is on my list of things to get permission to use. So at some point we maybe able to. However, I do not want people to think that we are officially supported by them.
Anyhow, thanks for your suggestions.
Tony
also below I used the BBcode: (I just highlighted the text and clicked on the buttons at top)
I am trying to make this bold
Underline

It appears to have worked for me?

First of, congratulations on the site. I like the new layout better than the orange one. the menu is much better like this. By the way \"gallery\" should be \"Gallery\" if you want to be consistent.
Maybe an online chat for the site?
A calendar of events as well?

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the reply. Surely, it would be easy to provide a disclaimer in your masthead that let\'s visitors know that you are not a member or the 4/3rds Consortium or a representative of Olympus.
It just seems odd to me that there is no visual tie-in to the 4/3rds system. I\'ll drop the matter if you want.
Regarding the BBcode buttons: I tried them again for this message and could not get any of them to work (I highlighted some text and clicking on a button). I also tried the emoticons and they didn\'t work. I\'ve used these kinds of features on other websites (like PhotoCamel) and they work just fine. Maybe it is a browser-related problem. I\'m using MS Internet Explorer 6 SP2 under Windows XP Pro SP2. Plus I\'m running the Norton security suite (firewall and antivirus software).
I also tried the \"Preview\" button again and it doesn\'t work. However, it\'s obvious the \"Submit\" button works or you wouldn\'t be reading this message.

I can add a calendar with no problem. Once we get some events, it is in. I would like to get some meetings started. The only problem is we are spread all over the globe.
