I\'ve never been satisfied with b&w converts before until I stumbled upon a simple method using RSE. I know many are unsatisfied with the color renditions of this program, but it\'s worth downloading it to give it a try.

Start with a raw image (obviously) and simply fade the \'saturation\' slider over to the extreme left. \'Color temperature\', \'tint\', as well as other sliders can be used to adjust your tones. I\'ve found that the (almost) previously useless \'Appearance\' box really works better with b&w images.

Try it out!

Had a go - and it\'s still not as good as TheImagingFactory\'s black&white convertor...

Photoshop\'s color Channel Mixer is outstanding. You can control how much of each RGB channel to use—even in a 16-bit/channel space. You can create stunning B&W images with its \"Monochrome\" option.
