Not something I took this week but something I post-processed this week...

Oh, and no lensbaby yet, Marco, but I have found an interesting Photoshop action which at least lets me pretend I\'ve got one...

Both simple shots, PP into excellent works of art. I am always impressed. Great work.

Went to the zoo on Sunday for a crash course on the E300. It was quite helpful due to the varying light conditions indoors and outdoors. Here are some shots I got.

Well, I was playing with this image in Sepia... I didn\'t like it.
But I do like it like this. (No shooting yet this week, just playing with what I had shot a couple of weeks ago)

Gunnerx - I really like the portrait of the Ape. Also the cheetah. They have a great boken. And are well framed.

Gunnerx, I like your butterfly - which is odd for me because I usually don\'t like insects on flowers. But yours is all lit up from underneath and I don\'t think I\'ve seen that before...

Thanks, I was actually surprised at how it turned out. Inside the building they had a lot of various objects on the ceiling and trees that let in light in various areas. This butterfly happened to land on a lighted flower so I struggled to get the proper distance with the 40-150mm. I found out the hard way that it requires quite a far distance to focus.

Thanks Tony. I\'m working hard on my composition. I\'ve been reading a lot of sites on it and I\'m slowly understanding and putting them to use. I\'ve been going out everyday when I get home with the camera while walking my dog. I\'ll bet people look at me funny but it\'s fun experimenting.
The minimum focusing distance on the 40-150mm was a bit of a hiccup for me, too, especially after I\'d whetted my appetite for fine optics with th 14-54mm! Like all limitations, though, it\'s something you eventually get used to working around, in time, as you get to know your kit inside out.
I try to remember that it was less than half a year ago that I was making do with a Nikon 70-300G f4-5.6 for my telephoto shots...
Here\'s my 150mm shot of the week! [1/160, f4.5, 400ASA]. I woke up insanely early this morning but the remaining kitten (pictured on the left) and his mother aren\'t anywhere to be seen as I had hoped. It rained pretty hard last night, and there\'s less shelter in the brambles than there was. The only thing we can do now is hope that the food we lay out for them is too good to pass up and they come back...

Taken on October 9th...as you can see we have no leaves on the trees...it snowed two days ago and it looks like it\'s going to stick. I used the poster edges filter to bring out the contrast a bit more. http://fourthirdsphoto.com/components/com_simpleboard/uploaded/images/A092967.jpg
