Is there a way to mark a thread I've read so that I can tell at a glance what has been posted since my last read?

After you look at a thread, it should change status. If you want to mark everything as read, you go to "quick links" and "mark forums read."

Unfortunately, if I'm viewing in threaded mode and I look at only the first post of a thread, when I return later the system shows only the posts added since that time as new, rather than the ones that I have yet to view.
In "flat" mode, there's no way of knowing how much someone actually took the time to read... but maybe in threaded mode there is?

When you open a thread any post in that thread is marked as read. Instead of just the ones you view. It would be the same in any view. I will look into this...
Thanks

I don't know how much effort would be involved to keep the unread threads marked as such in the hybrid mode, but it would really be an improvement for me not to have to check the date and time (usually open the thread) to remember if I've already been there. Would this also be more efficent on your server? I can't help but think others would be appreciative if this could be implemented. Thanks for the great site and refuge, Ted
