I like #3 and #4, I do not like the effect on #5, I think it kills an interesting close-up of the insect. Thanks for sharing.

#3 is real neat, makes me think about it.

#1 has a very interesting effect (reminds me of the puppet tv show Thunderbirds), but the composition destroys its effectiveness for me. The subject is looking right at the edge of the photo, with the area behind him totally blank; that doesn't work very often for me.

The insect photographs are a bit more conventional, and the back end of the mantis is too oof (IMHO).

My favorites are #3 and #4.
There is a lot of fun about experimenting with filters and techniques.
I tried lots of effects but finally I got back to the essence: trying to take good photo's and just using post-processing to improve them.
Keep on experimenting it is an interesting way to get to know your software.
