Hi Bob,
Your beautiful shots reminded me of my trip a few years back. (And yes I know that these were taken with a Nikon 5700, but I wanted to share. If requested, I will remove them.)
First was the Grand Canyon and everyone said "You MUST see sunrise!!!". Well....no one mentioned that it would be about 30 degrees out. My wife took one step out of the cabin and said "I will see the pictures." Anyway the rest of us ventured forth and the pics were great. (Only thought came to mind was if I took the sunset pics from the evening before and flipped them horizontally - who would know.)
Second was from Bryce Canyon. The pics are very recognizable because of the red rock formations. When our tour bus was approaching the canyon it was raining. Some of our group were complaining and the tour guide said, "Don't worry it won't be raining at Bryce!" We were overjoyed. (BTW - Bryce's altitude is in the thousands of feet. Of course it wasn't raining - IT WAS SNOWING!!! Did make for great contrast in the pics though.

Beautiful! I particularly like the Bryce Canyon shot with the snow. Bryce Canyon has remade all of their campgrounds. I highly recommend camping there if you ever travel without a tour.

Thanks Bob.
My wife is not really into camping. She likes the tours because (especially Tauck) they take care of all the details and only pick the nicest hotels. (Though on the Canyonlands tour they obviously don't have a great deal of choices since we stayed inside all three parks.)

I agree with Bob, the Bryce Canyon shot is really nice. Has that "painting" kind of comp look to it.
Tell your wife that 30 (-1C) is a glorious temperature where the air is crisp and clean (if there is not too much wind). Well worth the need to put on a little sweater or jacket.

I completely agree Garry. (Though I do have to admit that I did not see the entire group from our bus - about 45 people - get up for it.)
It is a wonderous site. You just sit on the edge of the Canyon (some "brave" souls actually did) and watch as the sun paints the different sections of the Canyon. Something definitely to be seen to appreciate.

I remember when we got to Bryce and a lot of our group were complaining about the snow. It did make approaching certain areas of the canyon edge a little dangerous - in one place there was a considerable downward slope to the path to the edge - but I loved it for the contrast of the white snow against the red rocks. (Made for some interesting shots near the cabins also.)
Thanks for the comment,
Steve
