An impossibly blue pool and a boy retrieving his football. I took this shot for the way all the elements combined in a slightly surreal way.

I like the perspective of the lines and the way they divide the frame, combined with the different colors in each "slice". The boy really makes a difference.
I have a friend who is an artist and she refers to her paintings as Illusionary Realism. The subtle difference with surrealism is the realistic combination of items in a way that you would not expect to find them in reality.
I would classify your photo under Illusionary Realism if you do not mind.

Indeed a photo with a surreal touch. I like it Tony. You showed the difference between a point-and-shooter and a real photographer by waiting for the "human factor". Well done and thanks for sharing.

Thanks Luke and Henk. You're right, Luke, that this shot's not surreal in the sense that most people understand that word. I suppose I was using the word as a metaphor for "odd". Illusionary Realism sounds like it fits the bill! I took several shots here Henk, one with people walking on the far side of the pool, several of parts of the pool and background. This proved to be the best composition.
