Trying out my new 35mm macro

Just got it today so had to try it out in the back garden..both handheld in poor light so excuse the quality.

Those look very good, Paul. You must have very steady hands. That first shot is great.
I tried to take some shots of the same kind of spider a few days ago and almost none past the quality test.
It is a great lens. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Wow, those are excellent shots with the 35mm!!! I can't seem to find spiders like that near where I am. Maybe that's a good thing. :D

Thank Luke , I got it to go with my 50mm and considering the low price for a true macro lens it seems quite remarkable... I did go and get the tripod for the spider one..it's strange I could put the lens a few inches away from him handholding but as soon as I came back and started to set the tripod up he went into hiding!! :(

Great pics, Paul. Once again, we see that the image quality of the 35mm macro is no myth.

I don't see how these shots would have been any sharper with a tripod, by the way.

#1 is beautiful. Incredible color and detail. The grass stalk (?) almost looks like it's glowing.

#2 is nice, too, but I think I would like it better with a wider DOF. "Like" being a relative term in regards to spider pics!:nailbiting:

Beautiful crystal clarity and color Paul.......impeccable really. And they don't look 'overworked' afterwards.
Can you please give some info - iso, speed, F value.....any pp?

Thank you everyone sorry to be so late coming back to this . forgot I posted it ( really need to upgrade my memory as I get older)

Don both shot in RAW and developed in Silkypix then post processed in Elements 5 just sharpened using the sharp enhancment feature (smart sharpen as its known in CS2) Spider was shot at F4 ISO 400 could have done with f8 to get those front legs in focus.
