I did not want to bother you guys with my story but I know there are a lot of animal lovers among you so I thought . . .
Wednesday night our dog Jera died. We were there with him.

Just a recent shot from last may.

A sad time Luc. Their time with us is brief, but they gave us their all, without reservation,

I'm very sorry about your loss. I don't know your religious convictions, but I've found this thought to be most helpful though I don't know who the original author is:

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are very happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands once again caress the beloved head, and your look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together…

So sorry, Luc for the loss of your friend. My grandma taught me that dogs were a gift from God, intended to show us what things in life are really important, like love. I think your friend accomplished his mission.

Sorry to hear about that, Luke. As you know we lost a favorite cat just a month or so ago and are still feeling the empty spot. My consolations.

Luc,

My deepest sympathy on your loss. I am a dog lover too, and have been through your pain. Still, I would rather endure it and have had the friendship and companionship of my beloved canine than to have avoided the pain and not have experienced the love of my dog.

Sorry for your loss, Luke. I have a dog myself and she got sick a week ago. Now she's jumpy and well again...

Hi Luke,
My wife and I have only recently found out what it is like to have a dog running around the house and I can understand what you and your family are going through.
My condolences,
Steve
