Well, probably in the first 10. Dreadful gray sky with no contrast but I had to try out the new body, and my favourite tree is a short walk away. So it's on the net for posterity. I was pleased however with the tones.
Some naughty CA is evident, which some will tell you this lens does not exhibit. I tried hard, and it can be done! I'm looking forward to some real light, because already I can see this combination will dance to ones tune.
Cheers,
Don

Hi Don ... the image, as I see it appears to have had the lassoo effect around the tree, I know, you have already stated how you did it but that is the effect that I see. Interesting tree and nice colouring in the "bark"

Hi Bill, nice to hear from you.
Yes, it's a mixture of purple and green/blue CA around the perimeter. It was an extreme contrast, and I think any lens would have produced at least as much.
Cheers,
Don

What sort of tree is it? Its bark reminds me a little of the local Madrona (Arbutus).

The bright sky is pretty much a CA torture test, but it does yield an interesting result. There appears to be longitudinal CA, rather than the more obvious lateral type. This sort of CA is normally obscure, but here it shows up very clearly with different frequencies outlying depending on the focus point.

What was the f-stop?

A Eucalypt.
Yes, a torture test. CA is rare with this lens.
It's F2.5.

Don
