I posted this around last year, and finally around to reworking it like I wanted to. This wreck happened about 10 feet from me, and all I really did was turn and shoot. It was a lucky shot with plenty of preperation.
Just post your thoughts, and thanks,
Cameron

Ouch! I like the crop very much. Less is definitely more in this case. Very dramatic.
I'm not sure about the mixed B&W and color. I think I like it, but without having seen the color version, it's hard to say whether the effect really adds something.

Here's the color version. I don't know why, but in the color version I think it's too busy. To me the B&W + color version is easier to look at. Just thinking out loud and thanks for the comments.

I see what you mean by "busy," especially those yellow lines. In that case, I think the partial B&W treatment was a good choice. :)

Agreed - the partial colour works well making for more impact.

I like the picture a lot and the B&W version is far superior, IMHO. As regards the content, it's wonderfully humorous. Being a bicyclist, I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Nice capture. Hope this person did bruise themselves too much!

I agree Cameron, a much better version. I actually did not notice the mono background at first look, until the color version hit me between the eyes! Going back, your treatment is just so right.
Cheers,
Don

I too didn't notice the B & W until I saw the color version.
Very nice shot. I love it.

What a great action shot.
Have you thought about just a straight B&W treatment with no color at all?

First off, thanks to everyone for their comments. Last time I posted this pic I didn't get near these responses, so maybe the processing has something to do with it?
Someone asked if the riders were okay after the wreck; the guy on the left got checked out by the medics and than walked back, while the guy on the right just jumped on his bike and rode off. No major injuries other than their bikes got beat up (which means they probably wished they had broken an arm and their bikes were okay.)
As for a full B&W conversion, I did one and it seemed pretty blah. I've attached it at the bottom to show.
One thing I forgot to mention was that this shot was taken with an E-500 and the kit 40-150mm lens.
Thanks everyone,
Cameron

I don't know Cameron, I kind of like the B&W version.
But, don't mind me- I convert about 99% of everything I shoot to B&W.
Still, it sure is a great action shot. It hurts just to look at it.
