Got these with the Bigma, a fair bit of pp sharping on some, less on others all have been cropped some. Manual focus

I like all 4 poses, but the sharpening looks a tad overdone for my tastes, at least on my monitor and especially where the green is more prominent. I'm sure others will disagree, so take it for what it's worth, just my opinion.

Gerry, well done. First and third are the best, but this is great work with the Bigma.

nice hummer shots, the sharpening looks good to me, more ammo in the "buy an bigma" camp

Thanks for the looks and comments, I was a bit rushed it both photographing and processing. I will have to give a better effort at a later date. I am sure the Sigma 50-500 has more to offer. It can be a tough lens to master because it is so long (1000mm in 35mm terms) and short DOF.

The third image is particularly nice. Especially since you were shooting at a FL of 420mm with such a small fast target.

Great job, Gerry! I suspect that there has been a lot of learning on your part to get results like this from this long lens.

I've looked at these several times since my initial comment and I must say the sharpening is growing on me, especially the 3rd one. I think the green is playing havoc with my notebook monitor. Sometimes I forget to adjust my angle of view for photos like this and when I tilt the monitor a bit, they look really good.
