Actually, it's Olympus who made the announcement ...

It's nice, of course, to have such backup as Zeiss, but if they talk about Zeiss HD lenses only, i.e. DigiPrime and DigiZoom, then joy will visit only a very tiny fraction of people on the Earth. Just googled around and found prices. OMG... starting with 12K USD and up to the Mars.![]()
Nice! I definitely wouldn't mind supporting the 4:3 standard. However, I really would like to see the m4:3 format take off as a professional platform. The high end compact lenses and camera bodies possible would be a worthy modern replacement for both the Leica M and Olympus OM systems.

It doesn't look like anything has happened with this. The Zeiss web site still does not talk about having micro fourth thirds lens mounts.

I saw today that Carl Zeiss has a 15mm and 135mm lens now available in the MFT mount. Both are only $5700.Kinda rich for me so I guess I'm going to pass on these.
I sure hope they come out with something more affordable that is.

They will almost certainly be MF only and very much aimed at moving pictures professionals. M43 seems to be carving itself out a nice niche here and is sure to be a go to system in any situation where small/light is required or space is tight.
