I hate goodbyes.
So it's nice to see a lot of familiar faces here! :D
Like some, I've visited Four Thirds Photo in the past and decided to join in following the recent debacle on the dpreview forum that led to several infamous bannings including but not limited to (ah, names withheld to protect the guilty).
I currently have my eye on, in random order:
1. Nikon D200 + 18-200mm VR lens
2. Sigma's Bigma
3. Olympus' E-1 replacement
I'm very much enjoying the E-1 and E-300 along with the outstanding Zuiko lenses. I have absolutely no reqrets to report ... ok, well high ISO noise. I prefer shooting the lowest ISO I can and with a tripod that's usually auto or 100. The colors and exposures are the best this way. And with the careful framing a tripod encourages, less post processing.
However I enjoy using Photoshop CS2 a lot. I learn something most everytime I use it ... and that's generally immedately after each shoot.
This is from my dpreview profile:
--- Tools ---
35mm: Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic, Nikon FE2, Nikon N70
APS: Canon Elph 240, Canon Elph 2
Digicam: Olympus C-7000, Canon Elph S110, Olympus C-2020
dSLR: Olympus E-1 w/SHLD-2, Olympus E-300 w/HLD-3
Lenses: EX-25, EC-14, 11-22mm, 14-54mm, 50-200mm, 50mm/f2.0 Macro,
14-45mm, 40-150mm
Lights: FL-36, FL-50 w/Stroboframe Quickflip
Support: Manfrotto 055MF4 MagFiber Tripod w/Gitzo G1276M Mk2 Offset Ball head,
Manfrotto 679B Monopod w/3232 Swivel Tilt head
Bogen / Manfrotto 3299 Quick Release Adapters with 3157N Plates (RC2 Syastem)
LowePro bags mostly, including the SlingShot 200 AW
So, re-reading this list I believe I'm a tooled up fool (apologies to Lord Coe).
To quote OzRay, cheers!
