View Full Version : Howdy, My E-300 is on it's way

I have just joined the 4/3 brigade, grabbing one of the great deals on the E-300 kits that Cameta is offerring on ebay. Should arrive next week.

My other Digicams include an Oly E-10, an Oly C-7000, and a Kodak DCS-760 (a 6 Megapixel pro DSLR built into a Nikon F5)

My reason for getting into 4/3 is that I was looking for a cost effective, and small DSLR (as opposed to my big honker DCS-760) that would allow me to use my older fast tele MF Nikon Glass, as well as be a reasonable camera to carry around. I decided to buy an E-300 (I also considered the E-1) rather than fork over $1200 more for a Nikon D200, at least for the time being.

I also have more 35mm and Medium and Large Format film gear than I care to mention, but I have faced reality, and I now use my digital gear for at least 75% of what I do, a percentage that will undoubtedly increase as I start using my E-300

Some of you may recognize me from Photo.net, Photocamel, or the DPreview forums.

Hello Doug, I remember your post from PhotoCamel. Hope you enjoy your new camera. I'm sure it'll hold you over a bit till you decide to get your D200 ;).

Be sure to update the firmware as soon as you get it. It corrects several problems in WB and exposure metering. (YMMV)

You will really enjoy the 300. Be sure to take your time and fine tune it so you can get the most optimum photos.
