Just surfing eBay & noticed the above; says its 2mths old + warranty card. Opens @ $1100. Not much feedback, but $400 less than B&H.

With the higher price lenses I would be afraid to get a bad copy and then you would be stuck with a soft lens without a warranty

I couldn't do it unless I knew the seller and the return policy.

Just my 0.02

I'm going to try and check this lens out in person, since I'm in San Diego, and so is the seller.

Someone snapped it up before I had a chance to see it.

Not for everybody; bit I figured it would go quickly. I am bit of an eBayer & it seems, slowly prices are coming down + a bit more availability!

Well, I won the bidding on an 11-22mm lens today, for slightly under $500. This was the lens I really wanted anyway (and my wallet greatly preferred it as well) as it will be my main lens, whereas a 7-14 would have been much more of a special purpose item for me (and at 2 and half times the price). Now, hopefully the lens is in the condition it was advertised to be, or I'll be wishing I got a new one instead (for $670 less $50 rebate).

Congratulations on the 11-22! I did the same about a month ago; bought from a reputable Trader [that is the key]. I am no expert, but love the results I have been getting; although it could be a tad wider. But like you, the 7-14 would have been too specialised a lens [learnt from expierence with a 15 f/3.5] Keep your eyes out; most eqpmt. seems to be coming down & more available. Maybe, no E-1 upgrade @ PMA is the reason?

My only question about the 11-22mm lens I bought was that the seller was a relative ebay newbie (only +5 feedbacks but fortunately all of them are for selling non-trivial items) and he is definitely a real photographer and his communication has been really good. He's one of the folks who changing systems for lack of a higher resolution E-1 successor.
