hi guys! I started taking photography seriously just this January and bought myself an E-500. Around the end of Feb, I found a good deal with a Nikon D70s and decided to buy it, thinking I would just sell one that I liked the least. Just this May, I sold the D70s (with a VR lens, an SB-600 flash and some primes) and got myself an E-1 ;D no regrets! happy to be using the E-1 for more than a month now! and yes, the E-500's still here. most of the time my fiancee uses it. :D was planning on getting a good lens last month, but splurged on a mac for post processing instead. :D

hope to learn lots of things here!

You are going to have so much fun. I too started with the E500 and then got the E1. Love using them both. Post us something sometime.

Welcome, Dex. I've been partial to Oly systems for almost 30 years. I got 2 E-1s and an E-300, but use the E-1s the most. I'm also used to the menu options on the E-1. I will probably end up giving the E300 to one of my daughters and keep the other two (maybe). Would be hard to give up any of them.

Hi Anne! Thanks for the welcome. I'm sure the E-500 will permanently be my future-wife's as I love the E-1 control. It's a lot easier to use than the famous D70s. hehehe! I also am happy to have installed the FS-2 on the E-1 as the grid view finder is the only thing I wouldve missed on the d70s.

I now have both an E-500 and E-1. When I go on serious shooting outings, I take both. I usually keep a long lens on the E-500 (where the extra MP gives me extra cropping room for really distant subjects) and the 14-54 or 35mm macro on the E-1.

I prefer the E-1 myself, especially with the battery grip installed, but I find it so handy not to have to change lenses all the time that the E-500 will still get a lot of use, I'm sure.

Enjoy the cameras, and post some pictures!
