"Open contest. No theme, only creativity"

Hi all,

I will be leaving for Florida on Monday, the 8th and will return to California with my new husband Feb 3rd to haul my stuff back to Florida. I'm busy packing, but I wanted to get January's contest thread going. I will have my computer there with me so I'll check in when I can find net acess.

Tony will offer the same prize as last month's. Next month he may offer something different.

We'll start with one of the themes that got the most votes in the recent popularity poll: Open contest. No theme, only creativity.

Can it be photo we have already taken, or does it need to be something we take this month?

AnnF

We have been asking that the photo be taken during the month of the contest, with a 4/3 camera.

It's ok, I should have posted it at the beginning of the thread. I will do that now.

Thanks Ann,

I never read your first post right, the idea was there as you have outlined:doh: . I will endeavour to read things more carefully next time.(must do better, must do better, must do better) That's my lines written now.

(Still do not understand what you demand of us though:wall: :help: )

Haha. Ok. We do not have a specific theme for this month. It is "open". In other words, you can submit anything you want (within the rules of the site, no nudity, etc). as long as it is CREATIVE. There are many different ways to be creative, and the members at large will still have the final vote.

Ann once again you pull through, well done and thank you. Now all I have to do is wait till somebody else posts an entry so that I can understand exactly what is meant by creativity (I thought all my photos were creative in one way or another?) :hmm:

Good luck for your wedding Ann, hope you have a wonderful time and the photos turn out ok!

 Well, I haven't seen all of your photos, so I wouldn't know. I would say that to be creative your photo would be taken in such a way that would make the viewer say, "Wow, that's pretty cool".

p.s. Thank you.

Ok Ann, the penny has dropped at last (sigh of relief heard from Ann) . I shall look out for that WOW factor then.

Thanks again for your patience Ann.

I have an image that I would like to submit. It was however taken at the end of December (30th). Would this qualify or not? In previous months posts I noticed that you allows pictures within a few days of the month in question.

Nice photos. I definitely can't compete with these. I am starting my class this week. Digital Art class. Looking forward to it, hopefully teach me how to be more creative. That's why I don't think I'll enter this month.

I am a noob picture taker. Just got my E-500 a month ago. Since this is an open contest, I would like to upload my first picture I took that I actually liked:D . No the best, but here it is.

I'm not sure this one qualifies exactly as creative or not. Depends on your opinion I guess :dontknow:. If anyone thinks it shouldn't count let me know and I'll take it out.

I would like to think that it is creative due to the composition and lighting (the green and white sign dominating the foreground, with an electric purple sort of sky sky behind)
