This month we are doing something a little different. Because we had so many people post last month. I have split this month into 2 contests. (Yes you can enter both, but also you have more chances to enter into the big contest of the year)
1-15th - self Portrait
16-31 - Pets
Only post pet pic's in this thread. The next one will be open during its current time.

File Uploads:
You can place the photos in this thread and I will put them all together at the end of the contest.

Or You can upload them to this gallery. (http://43photo.smugmug.com/gallery/2857176) username: tony@fourthirdsphoto.com password: petz please link them back here, and make sure that you include in the comments your username and title.

Rules:
1- follow all of sites rules.
2- only 1 post per person
3- shot must be in the month of the contest. (Please include EXIF info)
4- a title is nice to include with your photo.

The top 4 contributers will be entered into the 43photo photographer of the year contest.
Also to help sweeten the pot. If there are more than 25 entries, we will not only give away software by media chance, we will also give away a free year of smugmug. (The top voted member gets first choice on what he wants) But remember we need at least 25 people in the contest for 2 prizes.
This event is sponsered by media chance and the winner will get to pick from one of these following prizes:

One of my cats (Aerosmith) was playing in the garden. I think he had just rolled in the catnip patch. I thought it looked like he was surrendering, not that he usually acknowledges the concept of guilt. :nyaah:

I forgot to add the EXIF information: Olympus E-1 camera with Olympus 50mm lens, f/4.0, ISO 100, 1/400 sec, 50.0mm, auto mode, SHQ, matrix metering, +2 sharpening.

Hey Bill,
I deleted the photo out of the gallery.
You don't have the permission in the public gallery to delete the image, because if I allowed for users to delete they could delete any photo they like to.

Hope this worked! Exif should be in the file but, if not, it goes as follows:
Olympus E300, 50-200/2.8-3.5, 92mm, 1/320sec at f5.6, ISO100, no flash, 25/5/07 at 3:31:11 pm.

I had a better version of this but noted the date restriction. Luckily, Bung likes to pose. Bung? One blue eye, one yellow/green eye!

Don.

P.S. preview shows a little picture - hope it actually goes the full 700 pixels in the system. I'm such a newbie!

3- shot must be in the month of the contest. (Please include EXIF info)

Excuse me for my naive question, but HOW does one include EXIF info?

Thanks...:dontknow:

tspore
05-28-2007, 10:11 PM
Some programs remove out the Exif info when you save for web. So all you really need to do is make sure that the date is either included in the shot or manually just put it up.

When our two Russells play, they do it like Russells do everything - intensely. Jack (left) loves playing ball, Zoe doesn't, but takes them just to pester him. I would title this one:

It's always been hard to get a good, sharp shot of Maggie--she's almost always moving and her coloration is such that either the whites get blown out or the blacks disappear in noise. All of a sudden, I had a thought (careful!) why not use a flash, so...

http://bl3.smugmug.com/photos/157678162-M.jpg

This competition is tough, I really like the cat under the sofa. In fact I like all the shots, but I'm glad I finally got a shot of Maggie here that's suitable for printing.

Hey Everyone,

Here's my entry for the latter half of May. I took this shot of my cat "Puzzle" a few days ago on a lazy afternoon. I performed basic tweaks in ACR and resized it with PSE 4.0.

I don't keep pets, so I tried to catch one today:-)

exif should be there, tho I used a Nikon 300mm f2.8 (which arrived today!), on my E-1. Taken at f4 IIRC.

Cropped tho, and rendered in Studio2.

Sighthounds are dominating in this contest!! It must be the eclectic love of cameras and skinny dogs :)

So, I am going to go with a photo from May 12. Shot with the E-500, the 35-100 at F4 and 1/125th

Not my dogs :)
