This June we are going to change up instead of my town, we are working on changing to adding graphics for our header.
We will have 4-5 images in the header which will change up from time to time. you need to provide a image which is approx - 1000x750 px They will be resized to 100x75 px in size, but for Judging they need to be larger. The format is critical. So really other than format of 10x7.5 there are no other major requirements for this month.
For this size the pictures have to be taken with this size in mind.
So this is the only requirement for the shots. They are open to whatever you shoot this month. We are also increasing the amount of uploads available this month up to 2 entries per person.
http://43photo.smugmug.com/photos/158717790-L.jpg
File Uploads:
You can place the photos in this thread and I will put them all together at the end of the contest.

Questions and comments can be placed in this thread. (http://fourthirdsphoto.com/vbb/showthread.php?p=92793)

However please post all entries in this thread. I will not grab submissions from the other thread.

Or You can upload them to this gallery. (http://43photo.smugmug.com/gallery/2936955) username: tony@fourthirdsphoto.com password: header please link them back here, and make sure that you include in the comments your username and title.

Rules:
1- follow all of sites rules.
2- only 1 post per person This month 2 entries per person are allowed
3- shot must be in the month of the contest. (Please include EXIF info)
4- a title is nice to include with your photo.

The top 4 contributers will be entered into the 43photo photographer of the year contest.
Also to help sweeten the pot. If there are more than 25 entries, we will not only give away software by media chance, we will also give away a free year of smugmug. (The top voted member gets first choice on what he wants) But remember we need at least 25 people in the contest for 2 prizes.
Finally we have added four free licenses to locus (http://www.ht-locus.com/pages/AboutLocus.html) That basically is the best DOF calculator that I have ever used, it is the DOF calculator on Steroids. Check them out. Its only avalible for Windows, but I have been running it in Parrallels and must say that I am highly impressed.

Yea but its width needs to be 1000 and height 750. Not Visa Versa. for the header they all have to be in landscape orientation.

I kept the evaluated white balance, no histogram, curves or any color adjustment.<o:p></o:p>
File then converted with Photoshop 6.0 to JPG to get the best compression level.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
I started first to shoot with my C5060WZ with the 1,7X teleconverter but its response was very too slow for my needs and I switched for my E-1 with its short-reached 14-54mm. I had to lie under the manger, the sky was very cloudy, there were few raindrops and lots of ants. The hummingbirds were pretty fierce so I had to stay impassive for about 10 minutes. My lens was a little too short at 54mm but I managed to catch the full extent of the bird’s wings. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
The 50-200mm would be way better suited for that kind of job. Even the 40-150mm which hunts a little too much to my taste could have been better choices if I had one of those.<o:p></o:p>

Same processes as above<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
While keeping an eye on the children, I saw this ugly neat furry little beast (about the size of the eraser tip of a pencil) and I moved my lens as close as possible assessing that without the EX25, it would be too small but it proved to be surprisingly ok when seen at 100%. Few quick shots and the job was done. The picture has endured no sharpening process at all and can be enlarged satisfyingly better than I would have thought especially because this is an instant shot taken approximatively.<o:p></o:p>
