Hey all, sorry I was a bit slow getting this all together this month. I have been swamped. Today I am off for a few days vacation. But I wanted to get this all together before I leave for the weekend.
The voting should follow along these lines:
1. a photo should fit the theme of this months contest.
2. A photo should be technically unique. It shows that the person
used creativity in the shot, and it wasn't just another snap shot.
3. emotional appeal in theory the shots should have some sort of
emotional appeal to them, which shows excellence.
You cannot vote for your own submission, but if you entered you can
still vote.
I assign 2 points for a 1st, 1.5 points for 2nd place, and 1 point for 3rd. However, the judges do not have to vote for 3 entries they can vote for just 1 if they like.
Also this experiment seems to work out well. The comments are good, but the group is too small right now, so for next month I will open up the voting committee to others. I was keeping the voting group small, at first to even see if this would work out or not. but I like to see the comments with the photos. I will put up more info about how to subscribe to the voting system later this month.

The top 4 photos:
1st - "Under the Sofa" by Den. 1. As to the theme, perfect. 2. Unique in every way. If the underside of my sofa was that clean and neat, with no dust bunnies, I'd attempt the same! 3. Yep! -#13 - Bill Turner
1st - #13 Den - Under the sofa - great mood -Tony

2nd (2 way tie)
1st - #7 I liked this shot. I did not realize that the bird was looking through the blinds until I read the caption. Very well thought out. -Katie
#2 "Rocco the explorer" by Parallaxkid. For a "thinking outside the box" composition and lighting. -#7 - Henk
-3.5 points
#1 Assafx Gallery #27 -John
#2 Unique perspective - great post processing -Tony
- 3.5 points

4th place
#2 ManeImpressions - I can fly- #15 - Marco
#3 "I can fly" by ManeImpressions. One of the rare actionshots and the one I like for it's spontaneity (and the ears). -#15 - Henk
- 2.5 points

Other honorable meantions
#1 "Fetching" by Matthew For the excellent composition, colors and mood. -#28 - Henk
- 2 points
1st - #1 cifcap - Puzzle #30- Marco
- 2 points
1st #33 by Julie Poole. A real classic, makes me think: Gainsborough, Very few portraits of two, people or pets, work. This one does. Plus, their personality shines forth. - shenmaker

#3 Windsprite Gallery #35 - John
#3 windsprite - Bath for little sister - #35 Marco

#2 PeterMG Gallery #18 - John
- 1.5 points
2nd - #10 Cat in the catnip. Very funny picture. - Katie
-1.5 points
#3 - Deevee - Love the Sepia - #16 -Tony

3rd - #26 I liked how the dog was behind the tree. The trees added color and depth to the picture. I also liked the use of light in the picture. The light seems to be shining on the front side of the dog (where the dog is white) and the shade is in the back (the part of the dog that is black). - Katie

I've been away for the past week - but this was a lovely surprise to come back to! Thanks for voting, everyone, and I'm glad so many of you liked the picture :-) I'm going to do a whole series of pictures where cats go but where you don't normally see them now...
