I picked up a referbed HP 9000, all i can say is this thing rocks.

super fast dual core AMD, 2 gigs of ram, 100 gig hd, dvd burner with lightscribe, etc.

way faster than my old p4 system, big bright 17" screen. and more.

pros:

dual core
Lots of Ram
dvd burner
Beautiful Monitor

cons:

usb ports on side, not rear,

audio connections on front not rear.
easily scratched

other than that, this notebook is worth every penny

It's a nice laptop! Lots of features and good performance. Good build quality as well. Enjoy!

I love it!

its fast, and upgradeable too. I am soon upgrading my HD's in it. going to put a 160gb 7200 RPM drive in it for OS/program duties, and the biggest 5400 RPM drive I can fit in there for storage.

then it will be my ultimate machine for mobile usage.

Hi Guys,

I bought one of these in the US when I was over on business about 16 months ago.

I agree the machine is a great performer and looks nice.

I do however have a word of warning, watch out when opening and closing the display as there seems to be a problem with the hinge (IMHO) and mine has managed to break the plastic casing and the display support. The issue seems to be related to the siting of the security into the hinge area and causes the security lock part to stop turning with the hinge and then to crack the case.

I am finding it a trial to get the parts to fix it but I am sure I will in due course. Fingers crossed it will last longer once it is fixed.

Cheers
Mark
