Well for us in the Northern Hemisphere are drawing close to the end of summer. But I think that this theme should be do able for everyone. Water - You know that wet stuff which covers 70% of the earth. So be creative!

File Uploads:
You can place the photos in this thread and I will put them all together at the end of the contest.

Or You can upload them to this gallery. (http://43photo.smugmug.com/gallery/3242695) username: tony@fourthirdsphoto.com password: wetworld please link them back here, and make sure that you include in the comments your username and title.

Rules:
1- follow all of sites rules.
2- only 1 post per person
3- shot must be in the month of the contest. (Please include EXIF info)
4- a title is nice to include with your photo.

The top 4 contributers will be entered into the 43photo photographer of the year contest.
Also to help sweeten the pot. If there are more than 25 entries, we will not only give away software by media chance, we will also give away a free year of smugmug. (The top voted member gets first choice on what he wants) But remember we need at least 25 people in the contest for 2 prizes.
This event is sponsered by media chance and the winner will get to pick from one of these following prizes:
http://fourthirdsphoto.com/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=3861&d=1171179920
Each winner will recieve a pick from one of these three prizes:
PhotoBrush (http://mediachance.com/pbrush/index.html):
PhotoBrush is an image editor, natural and artistic media painting program, picture retouching tool, photo enhancer and Image Browser for Windows OS. Accept usual range of image formats including RAW files!

http://www.mediachance.com/hdri/title.jpg (http://www.mediachance.com/hdri/index.html)
Dynamic Photo HDR (http://www.mediachance.com/hdri/index.html)
My photo is not what I remembered?
Many times you see a beautiful scene and of course you take a picture! The result is often far from being the magical scene you remember.
Our eyes are very adaptive and they are also more sensitive to intensity than color. It is estimated that our eye can see over a dynamic range of nearly 24 f-stops while a digital camera can capture a dynamic range around 6 to 9 f-stops. See this gallery for examples! (http://www.mediachance.com/hdri/gallery.html)

DCE AutoEnhance (http://mediachance.com/dce/index.html):
DCE AutoEnhance is an automatic photo enhancer and batch processor. This application will help you with the time consumingjob of adjusting and enhancing your daily digital images in a whole new and smart way. Primarily targeted to JPEG files with EXIF but accept also RAW files!

PureImage (http://mediachance.com/pureimage/index.html):
PureImage is our newest addition to the digital camera tools. Wavelet based Noise Reduction and Color Matching application that uses the latest research in image processing. Also this application supports usual range of image formats and RAW files!

Multimedia Builder (http://mmb.mediachance.com/index.html):
Windows-based multimedia authoring system allows you to create autorun CD menus, Multimedia Applications on CD-ROM, Demos, Presentations, MP3 players and much, much more.

RealDraw (http://mediachance.com/realdraw/index.html):
First time in just one drawing package you have the power to combine vector, 2D, 3D and bitmap editing into totally new level, where one form seamlesly transforms into another.
Real-DRAW sets a whole new standard in vector editing.

Happy shooting!

I tried to tie the exif info to the file but I haven't ever done that. Here's what I know. 100ISO, 33mm, f/4.5 1/320, IS on. Processed with Adobe Lightroom. I hope that meets the guidelines?

Title = Water sport.

Was out and about at a local river race. Here's one of the best I managed (there weren't too many:(). This shot was at one of the rapids and the large amount foam in the water makes it look almost like snow boat racing.

There's an error on my camera, I have the month set wrong which means the EXIF shows as September rather than August. It was taken at the start of August as the weather conditions should indicate.

Have been bush walking along this remote little spring fed waterfall and thought I must get a shot of this one day. So I did it this evening.

It was dark in the valley and I seem to have lost something in the downsize and conversion, but it'll do. Cropped and sharpened almost untouched except for minor saturation.

Absolutely -- I need to get back the day that I lost crossing the international date line somehow.

This was taken in Sydney, fourteen hours ahead of the time my camera was set to. That's how I can take a night photo in the early morning... :hmm: And 'spring tide', I learned, has nothing to do with the seasons. It's the name of the highest tides, which happen when the moon is full.

(I adjusted my Point-and-Shoot Olympus 770SW to local time everywhere I went, since it doubled as my alarm clock. Now I have two sets of photos that are going to be the devil to synchronize. My setting the 770 to the wrong month doesn't help.)

I love google's maps -- if you want to know exactly where this photo was taken, click here. (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=beach+and+carr,+coogee,+australia&sll=-33.921417,151.255968&sspn=0.007229,0.010933&ie=UTF8&ll=-33.923305,151.256504&spn=0.003614,0.005466&t=k&z=18&om=1) The breakwater is just to the right of the arrow.

The month I can cope with. It's being in 2008 that bothers me!!!!!! I would love to pontificate about spring and neap tides and how they fit in with our part of the solar system as I know far more about astronomy than I do about photography but I get very boring so will keep quiet. There is an easy way to re sychronise your images with a date to suit your local time on your PC. A friend of mine went doing missionary work in Africa where the temp. reached 41 degrees F. His camera went haywire and recorded all his pics to the yeear 2035. Of course when he uploaded them to his PC he couldn't locate them. To the PC they didn't exist!!!!

Got them up, thanks.

I'd like to identify the person who uploaded the "Foggy Morning" shot. No name was given for that. If you read this, please send me a PM or let me know in here who you are so I can add it with the shot. Thanks.

Foggy Morning
I went to a local golf course to take some promotional pictures but we were socked in with fog. This fellow showed up and wasn't going to let a little fog slow him down. Don't know where his shot went but he hopped onto his cart and disappeared down the fairway.

Sure. Just upload a new photo into the album and let me know it's yours. If you don't know how, then place it in here and I'll do it. Please make sure it's under 1mb, has a title, as well as the 4/3 system used and the date it was taken. I'll have the first one deleted.

Thanks,

Ann
