Now with the name of Opteka and the price of 13 bucks you wonder of quality of this item. Well you will be surprised.

Made of a pure metal body this monopod felt very stable in my hands when I use it. It's very rigid (considering the light weight) because the round leg has a locking channel The Grip is simply a joy and I can spend hours walking in the woods, with out my hands getting cramped because of a hard feeling grip.

Easy to use and very stable when its at full length(67in!). Ive tested it myself using it as a "fencing sword" swing it up and down to see how stable, the body barely moved.
It is also supplied with a reasonably decent quality zippered nylon case with carrying strap.

So if you are looking for a lightweight,wont-break-your-bank, but strong monopod for that weekend of shooting outdoors This is your ticket.

Thank you very much for the update. Me, being stupid (ok, not really stupid just overwhelmed with the work) didn't remember to check amazon :(

Thanks again,

They are about $27 at the Opteka site, so $13 sounds reasonable. How much for shipping, tax etc.

I have looked at this monopod for quite a while on amazon. Is there any chance of it holding 5-6 lbs of lenses and equipment with any stability? I have cheap tripods where the leg locks slip under that much weight.

It's rated for 35lbs so I'm guessing it'll be ok with 5-6lbs of weight. Just put a ballhead on it and don't fiddle with the piddly monopod heads; they're worthless IMO. My favorite ballhead ATM is the Cullmann Magnesit 35NM (it's massive though).

Thanks. I overlooked that part. Perhaps I'll go ahead and grab one soon.
