Photographs of people are often frozen motion - the moment made eternal. In nature photography, the opposite applies ... eternity is frozen and made into a moment. We are granted a glimpse of eternity itself.
- Guğmundur Andri Thorsson
Landscapes are a popular genre for painters and photographers alike. It's easy to name its masters: they are some of the most famous early photographers, and many greats have continued in their path. Let's look at this field for our next assignment.
For the purpose of this assignment, let's include seascapes but exclude cityscapes. Urban and architectural photos will be explored in other assignments.

Very nice. You can almost hear the oompah-pah-pah...

I did hear it all day long like a base drum beating in my head. Octoberfest ended the night before!!!!

Thanks Jim -
One of these days I will print it, want to hang a copy on the wall of my duck trailer up North - That's the view I have from my trailer. I usually throw that up on my computer for wallpaper during the off season!

While there aren't many photos in this assignment yet, the ones we've seen are spectacular. (Here's my effort at adding quantity instead of quality... :D ) Landscapes are very difficult for me to shoot, as I'm almost always in the centre of the city, so only the first image was taken with this assignment in mind.

The simplicity and colors of your fourth photo are really nice Matthew.
Jack, is your photo HDR?
I'd like to post one, but it seems the new forum format is not going to let me. <pout>
Well, now that that's fixed, I can post!
This is also in Yosemite, at Mirror Lake.

Bill -
Thanks for the comments, will be printing it soon, just been kind of lazy lately! Would also like to say, I enjoyed your galleries, first time I've been to them even though I've seen your name here quite a few times in the past. Looks as if you really enjoy England and traveling. I'm much in the same mode these days, looking to visit Ireland and England in the next couple of years.

Jack, is your photo HDR?
Yes.

The effect works really well with this photo. Very nicely done!
