I finally got it sorted out. I had to figure out how to reset the old guy and then by setting it up again (who would think that Olympus camera menus can be set in not more than a minute?) I found out...
The last body I purchased was GX-7 kit with 20mm. I like that style a lot. EM-1 didn't have better sensor nor it did have much better focusing with m4/3 glass but all other benefits it did have...
I really like Sigma's color cast (for photos of people of course). The 30mm 1.4 is just lovely.
I started shooting jpgs almost exclusively this year so I will have to study difference in color...
I would guess so but I would also expect the files not being alright. So far each file I shot seems perfectly recorded and can be open in LR/PS.
Hi, I have 1GB CF card made by SanDisk.
This one:
50008
I was going to put it in the E-1 and use it for jpgs due to a small capacity of the card and small pixel size output of this camera. Once...
After Panasonic and then B&H not respecting the preorders for the 25mm and cancelling it 4 months down the road i swore i will never have anything to do with panasonic or b&h.
Yes indeed. I wonder what happen with all those hard xore Oly fans? Some just disappeared at once and we never heard back from...for ex. Neddog. i would never expect him just to disapear.
I am debating to start doing professional work...wedding, engagements, portraits and what not with E5 and E30.
I dont have any f/2 zooms for low depth of field work and know that iso1600 is way...
Not sure where abots are you but i saw one sigma 30mm 1.4 for only 200 in winnipeg.
I got mine from toronto few years back and i paid 400 but output of that lens is by far my favourite in my 4/3...
Used but mint E-5.
Huge upgrade compared to e-3 but obviously very natural as compared to figuring out new system menus and other quirks of micro 4/3 system.
I had e-3 and have e-5 and multitute...
I decided I will wait for em1 rev2.
It will have all bells and whistles of em5 but with ability to use it with my primary 4/3 glass.
I find waiting oneor even two generations can make me justify...
Are you going to keep Olympus equipment for other work? Models and studio shots, or you are going to sell it off?
Haha, and here I am, still waiting to find 8080 for up to $50 to give it a try.
When they came out, I believe they were around $900...way out of budget of college student living on his own.
I think they all have a 24-105 which is pretty much 14-54 but wider.
I wonder whats Robin Wongs secret in shooting and editing high iso photos.
I just saw his ISO6400 cat images in epl7 review.
Speaking about no noise....i cant get that type of results unless i...
Valid points Godfrey.
I made a peace with idea that I will use m4/3 on m. bodies and 4/3 on E-5 and E-1. I still bring 12-60 with me on vacations in case I want to shoot something for micro stock...
I bought this camera in february (20mm kit) and keep using this combo in 95% of my shooting endeavours (which are really rare lately).
I can't be happier - it actually is so enjoyable to use as...
Especially if she crops at all....the E-1 would be step back from 8MP sensor cropping wise.
Colors might be better in E-1 if she shoots jpgs...but that's a personal preference and you get used to it...
Are these updates worth the hassle ?
I never update any firmware on any of my devices.
My toaster still does only 2 toasts per try. Will it burn 4 if I install new FW ???
:)))
Anyhow, I...
I have way to many old cameras to shoot.
GX-7 is my daily companion.
Couldn't be happier with it.
Yes.
Every time when I shoot seriously.
I mostly use 12-60 and 50-200.
Sometimes 30mm 1.4 when shooting video.
I use 14/17/20 when Im traveling and in home with family.
I guarantee you will not be sorry you invested in that lens.
I actually had it as my first real upgrade, then sold it due getting
12-60 and after couple of years bought it again (when funds allowed...
Good luck !
I hope you won't get bored of it as previous owners did (by the looks of it).
