Other Techniques Re: My first digital painting

Not being a Corel guru, I will comment on the style. The background is too abstract for the subject. Both are very interesting, but they don't go together. I suggest you either make the background...

Lighting, pose, colour, DOF is perfect. If it was mine I would give a bit more space on the left so it wouldn't be so centered.

That has always been a problem with "group shoots"- you don't have very much control.

    Models Re: Yoyo

The first one is composed well, but the model is lost because all the colour is in the car. If she had had a red or green top It would be much better.
The second is more about the model and not the...

Used to be 4 or 5 of those at Port Franks as well. I went out on one once. They are primitive compared to the covered boats.

Landscape/Outdoors Re: G W Jackson at Port Stanley

It is nicely composed and exposed, but the for-shortening of the telephoto lens you used is distracting, IMHO.

  8. Re: What famous person inspired you to Photography?

Not a famous person- a philosophy. You have the power to control time in the effect of taking a wee bit of a time stream and stopping it for inspection and making a statement about that wee bit. The...

Legacy Lenses Re: Adapter for MC Rokkor lenses.

Here's the pic. Notice the l shaped cut in the stainless ring at the back. The grub screw tightens this against the Minolta mount.5572

    Re: Telephoto Leica for L1.

Thanks-its the 50-150 and macro I'd be interested in. What I'd REALY like is for Sigma to put IS in the 50 -500

    Telephoto Leica for L1.

Question: I saw somewhere that a longer telephoto for the L1 (longer than the 14-150) is in the planing stage but I can't find the reference again. Anyone seen this or was I dreaming?
    Thanks.

    'Led Zeppelen"

Hi Guys- This was taken with the L1 and Sigma 55-200 at 146mm, f5.2, 1/200, ISO 100. The bridge was graffitied in '72 or '73 and has not been painted since.5520
  15. Re: E-510 image stabilisation - technically evaluated

Comparing the Leica on the Olympus is not really a fair comparison as you can't use mode 2 on the Olympus. It is stipulated in the manual and reviews that the Leica-Panny combo in mode2 works much...

    Re: Lunar eclips shoot.

Thanks for the help. Next eclipse is Aug 28.
  18. which is better- macro lens or closeup filters?

I can get a 35-3.5 macro for CDN$280 total, or a set of 72mm filters for the Leica 14-50 for CDN$160. How much quality will I lose with the filters in order to keep the speed and IS of the Leica lens?

    Lunar eclips shoot.

I am intending to shoot the upcoming lunar eclipse. I have shot the moon before, with a relatively unsophisticated film camera, but this time will be with a Lumix L1. The lenses I am considering are:...

Re: cows on a misty morning

Thanks Julie. I tried the crop you suggested, but I thought the image lost a lot of depth that way, and bringing the tree branches lower to t6he bottom made them a touch too important.
