Love the rendering, a very classical photo.
The fingers are a little bothersome, but I didn't see them at first.
keep on going!

Hello Jonathan! Welcome to the forum!
Show us some of your photos! :-)

Excellent! You caught the "1950s postcard" look beautifully. :-)

That's what I do. My standard ISO setting on all my cameras is ISO 400. I drop it lower when I want more flexibility to use the larger apertures, etc.
I posted this photo ages ago, was looking at it again recently, decided to make a couple of 11x14s of it ...

Astronomical telescopes have had liquid cooled sensors for a couple of decades now, in order to eke that Nth little bit of light gathering power out of them for long, long exposures.

Viewing an image at 100% or "native size on screen" means that the pixels are 1:1 ... one pixel in the image corresponds to exactly one pixel on the display screen. How big (and how much of) the...
I thought all'y'all might enjoy this:

You're welcome.
Yes, it's very difficult to remember all and every option in modern cameras. That's why I like the cheat sheet ... It helps me know what's there, even if I only very infrequently...
With the E-M1,
- the main menus cycle
- when you are in the custom (cog) submenus, the cycle goes through all the submenus (from cog-A to cog-K)
- moving back up a level is usually done by...
I may be too experienced with the Olympus control design to provide an unbiased view; I do have extensive experience with other cameras that I find far more difficult to understand the logic and menu...
Of "those hard core Oly fans" of days past, I'm not sure I qualify as I have almost always used several different cameras since I started in photography 50+ years ago. But I look in this forum...
The point of calibrating and profiling a display is to provide a level of consistency and repeatability on the display when making adjustments across different systems and when printing to different...
An E-M1 fitted with MMF-3 and battery grip is an excellent replacement for the E-3 or E-5. It's just a bit smaller, has a better sensor, better image stabilization, better viewfinder, etc. It's...
Excellent photo, Lorey! It hits all the numbers.

I don't know of a guide that is actually more complete than the Olympus E-5 Instruction manual. It's the only book I used to learn the E-5 when I owned it, and it did me well. But it's not without...
Looks like you're enjoying some very long lens fun.. :-)
I have been too: found a Leica Telyt-R 250mm f/4 v1 for virtually nothing ($320) in near perfect condition, and a 2x Extender-R for $80...
I sold my E-5 and most of my lenses and such when I closed my photo business in 2011. But I kept my E-1 and a couple of lenses simply because I like shooting with the E-1 so much. After I bought the...
I like that. :-)
In resetting the Time on all my cameras yesterday (flip over to PST from DST ...), I ended up snapping a pic or two with each to verify that I had the time and date set correctly....
Oops ... thanks for the reminder! :-)
G
Like it, Lorey! Thanks for posting. :-)

I haven't looked at E-3 prices lately, but IIRC Olympus will do an overhaul and service for a flat fee on most of the single digit E-system SLRs these days, and it's not unreasonable (something in...
Well, that is pretty extreme, even pro bodies have their limits. I think there's a bit in the owners manual on recommended operating temperature range.
I hope you got some outstanding photos on...
Sheesh, "body rubber covering melted off in the hot sun"? How hot was it?
I'm glad we don't get temperatures like that around here. A camera that's being thermally stressed like that gives me...
Olympus has an app for iPhone (and likely Android but I don't have one of those) that can help you integrate GPS data from the phone with the photos from the camera. Another strategy for GPS data is...
