I'm curious about the error code my E1 gives me when I press the shutter. Internet searches haven't been very useful. The screen shows

    Lovely. Those eyes are incredible.
  3. Camera Topics Older Olympus Camera Repair Recommendations

My gear is older Olympus (E-30, E-3 and E-1), which still produce excellent results (when they are functioning). The E-1 and E-30 need a bit of attention, and I hope some of you can recommend a...

Chit Chat Re: where did everybody go!

Wow. I've been a rather infrequent visitor, and it's like coming back to a ghost town. What a shame. I'm still an Olympus 4/3 owner.

    Wildlife Going Through Old Files

I haven't done much shooting these past couple of years. Going through my old files, found some I thought I'd throw into the mix for comments and critiques. Thank you.

One taken a couple of springtimes ago. It is a beautiful thing to live right on the Great Lakes and have eagles fly by the front window on a regular basis.

A sassy little wren "hiding" in dead cedar branches. I haven't done much shooting lately, and just came upon this thread. Thanks, Edmunds.

Wonderful series, and I agree about the background, really makes the hawks coloring stand out. I have turned the same shade of green as Daniel Bradley! How far away do you think you were?

Wildlife Re: Young Magpies & Wilson's Snipe

Nice to see your latest posting. As always, the images are tack sharp and full of detail. That 300 f/2.8 and 2x combo are still on my wish list - just can't beat the quality!

Camera Topics Re: When the E-1 Monitor Goes Dark

That wasn't the case here. It was more than a blacked out screen. It was a situation where no matter where I turned the shooting mode button, nothing changed, couldn't change the shutter speed, or...

Camera Topics Re: When the E-1 Monitor Goes Dark

There's very good chance that was the case. I was wading out into the water with it. Just wish it was always this easy to fix an issue.

Don, I did hit the INFO button numerous times, but the...

I was ready to sell it for parts after yesterday, because the shooting modes would not change when I moved the button, nor would the shutter speed or aperture. This morning I changed lenses on it,...

Camera Topics When the E-1 Monitor Goes Dark

Yesterday I took my E-1 on a beach walk, taking pictures here and there. At one point I saw that the monitor was not illuminated. The camera still focuses, still shoots, but I can't access the...

Wildlife Re: Family of Burrowing Owls

What a delightful gallery. I used to see burrowing owls in the Arizona desert, didn't appreciate how cute they were back then. Thanks for the "intimate" look at their daily lives.

Chit Chat Re: About that E-1 ...

I bought an E-1 on eBay, which came with a 14-54 f/2.8 lens, and have been quite pleased with it. It was purchased as a back-up for my E-30, and frankly, I get along better with the E-1.
