My current setup is an e5 with the following lenses: 7-14 f/4; 14-35 f/2; 14-54 mkii; 50-200swd; 50mm macro and 2x teleconverter.
Whan I travel I take only the 14-54mm, as I find the other lenses...
As the 4/3 lenses are larger than their m4/3 counterparts I assume they gather more light, and if this is true would it result in a higher DR or more resolving power?
For example I was wondering if...
I know what you mean. I am considering getting an em1 mkii, probably used from BH, as a resolution and DR upgrade from my e5, but mainly because of the body size for travelling. I also like the idea...
So where do you all hang out forum wise?
I see your point about iso performance. Plus which I believe a lot of papers have cameras and lenses that their staff just grab and go with in an assignment, so they may not be concerned about price....
Sony have just released a 400mm f2.8 lens to a lot of fanfare and good reviews. They speak to its low weight and balance and ease of use for long periods of time especially when compared to the Nikon...
Thanks Rich. The holder arrived today and is a partial success in that the vignetting starts at 18mm, and it is small enough to be cropped out. So I am well pleased given the price.
My Cokin P series filter system is causing vignetting with the 14-35 f/2 when it is used in conjunction with a polarising filter screwed onto the lens.
Cokin make a filter holder for wide angle...
I had a brief interlude with an em1 which I bought second hand, but it came a cropper when it got blown off a cliff.
I have to say that it was a lovely camera, and I liked the compactness of it all....
Hi Wigpro
Yes, things are petty quiet here nowadays. I look in now and again. Zippski made a rare appearance a while back.
I think most have moved away from 4/3.
I just watched a video on BH on phase v contrast AF.
The suggestion seems to be that lens calibration is only necessary for phase AF.
Is this right, and if so will any lens calibrations be ignored...
I bought an Olympus BLM-5 off Amazon, and it does not hold charge. I suspect that it is old stock as Olympus probably don't make it anymore.
Anyone have third party recommendations?
Solved it!
You have to go into:
Menu-cogs-AF/MF-Set Home
There you can choose which AF size is available.
Simple really :)
Thanks but unfortunately the first method does not get me to the reset menu, and the second way doesn’t seem to do anything.
I might try to contact Olympus, but sending it off to them is out of the...
This sounds like a good idea, especially as the face detect mode won't work either, but I don't know how to do a full reset and cannot find it online.
Can you assist please?
No luck yet. I have no idea what I am doing wrong, but as it is a minor problem and doesn’t stop me taking photos I think I’ll ignore it.
If I go on to the menu on the lcd and select the focus point icon there are 3 options at the bottom, all 11 points, one point and 4 points. I cannot select the 4 points option.
I am going through the e5 manual trying to understand all of the things the e5 is capable of, and got to Dynamic single target AF mode. However when I delve into the menu system on my camera that...
Could it be it possible to upgrade the sensor in a camera, say put an em1 sensor into an e5, or is it far too complex for that.
It just seems to me that instead of having to buy a whole new camera...
Merry Christmas to you all, and may 2018 be filled with light for you and yours.
Guy
I have bought a Spyder 5 monitor calibrator and it came bundled with a Spyder Cube.
Anyone here use this device and if so how useful is it?
Congratulations Edmunds! My youngest grand child is 4, but I remember the thrill and awe of being a dad very well.
The em1 is a wonderful camera, but mine came a cropper so I am back to my e5, which...
Is this true even if the battery is not used? i.e. can it be out aside for use in the future?
I had an em1 with the mmf3 and used to use the 4/3 lenses on it, but they all felt too big for the body to me, so I was looking at getting the m4/3 lenses over time.
Unfortunately I had an accident...
Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't thought of that and I only have one battery that keeps charge so I will be getting a couple more asap. That scenario is dreadful though, as I have some nice, and...
