Glad to see your back....
I would say call them about new licenses. See if upgrades are available to buy for those apps you lost the licenses on. I would recommend making a backup copy to CD and printing the license key...
Lightroom was recommended by many users along with CS2. I would probably get CS3 when I get the E-510. I find a lot of great tools in Photoshop to improve my pictures. IS should help my...
Does the Archos have a 3.5" full hard drive or just smaller laptop hard drive? I believe he wanted 750GB drive for pictures.
CS3 added more 64-bit functionality and can use up to 16GB of RAM. It also has E-510 RAW functionality that CS2 does not. If you are happy with your current software, don't upgrade.
I had a women in London freak out when I was taking a picture of a building she was in front of. She did not want to be in the picture. I waited for her to move away and took it.
So with IS vibrating, dust cleaning hypersonic shaking, and SWD motion will my camera create a reading the seismographs or just explode.
The motherboard makes a huge difference. My Tyan Thunder K8WE is NUMA enabled server board that really increased memory bandwidth. This helps A/V and CAD apps. The new C2D with 1066 MHz RAM are...
You have to run benchmarks that have both 32-bit and 64-bit versions together like Sandra Pro and Cinebench. I believe Crystalmark also can do 64-bit. Running a 32-bit benchmark on x64 will be...

Michael, about 64-bit OS analogy. 64-bit OS makes a difference. You don't have a limit of 4GB RAM. I have 8GB. I can go to 16GB on my K8WE. If you have 64-bit apps like Adobe Photoshop CS2 or...
I can see them making SWD for only E-3 body instead of E-510 as a selling point. If the E-510 is as good as everyone here is saying, having SWD could affect E-3 sales. Michael tends to go on the...
I have a 14-54 and 50-200. How will the new SWD versions improve my shooting with a E-500 and E-510?
I am looking for getting the E-510 to replace my E-500.
I usually change the ISO from 100 to 200 once I get between 1/6" - 1/30". Above 1/100", I can usually hold it steady enough on my E-500. Slower than 1/6" usually means ISO 400-1600.
I thought IS had a limit around 1/125" to work properly.
Power is your problem. Most 3.5" hard drives need 5-11W to work due to size of the platter and servos. Laptop hard drives are much smaller in size so they take 1.1W to work. I would suggest...
Nice. I usually read the book before unwrapping the camera to begin with. How accurate are the histograms? Anything I need to know about using them in low light conditions. I usually shoot in A...
I purchased the better lenses so I could start with better pictures before post processing. Any way to set the live view mode to start with the histogram open all the time on E-510? I am planning...
E.B.,
If I shoot in RAW, would I still need to rely on the histogram as much? Most of the objects I am shooting are pictures and buildings. Maybe a night shot of the same. I read about the...
I am printing my mother the pictures from Stockholm on my Epson RX620 in 8x11. I am planning a trip to Italy and Austria for next year. We want to go on our own instead of a planned tour or...
I read about Liveview. I am used to using the view finder while shooting. I turn off the LCD to save battery life. I shoot in RAW. What is the benefit of Liveview in E-510?
Steve's reviews seem to be proof read by Olympus some times. Your reviews use the current lenses and show good and bad. You discuss details that help use the camera better.
I like the Wolverine devices. The error correction can detect a bad media card and prevent loss of pictures. They are slower. I am looking at installing a Seagate 7200.1 ATA100 100GB hard drive...
I use a Wolverine MVP-9000 device. It is a battery powered card reader with hard drive from www.wolverinedata.com . They have other decent devices. A hard drive directly off the camera would be...
