  1. Lens Topics Re: metabones & canon 400/5.6 purchase question

    [QUOTE=Daniel Bradley;639873]John,
If you can get to a computer that does run the Metabones update software, I would reccomend going back to v2.1 or to v2.6. I found 2.2-2.5 all to be buggy. But...

I'm like you Rich. Can,t bring myself to sell the Oly lenses. I like them too much. And who knows what comes around the corner and fits next. They are the innovators.

Hi Daniel. I'm glad to see you made the most of it, and I'm very jealous of the ease of your setup options.
    The fly shot is excellent.
I will return to you later :)

You did it Daniel! You will love them both I'm sure.
How did the Metabones do on the M2 compared with your M1?

Camera Topics E-M1 mk2 Image Compared

The DPR image comparometer now has the new EM1 2 up.
Interesting comparison. Reasonably close to the Fuji XT-2 and Nikon D500 up to 1600 iso with a bit more color noise. But blows them away...

    That is very bad Ken.
I would suggest you email your concern directly to Olympus, Japan. Years ago I had a problem with Olympus back in the E-1 days. I wrote very politely to Japan, setting out my...

    General Re: Re-Discovering 4/3 150mm F2

Color and contrast are about the same. Detail from the 150 is slightly better and background (bokeh) is significantly nicer. Like all of the Oly zooms, the 40-150pro bokeh can be very good, though...

    General Re-Discovering 4/3 150mm F2

One of my favourite lenses, but rather neglected since E-M1 times.
I pulled it out the other day, and was so pleased, it got used for 2 days running!
Still weighs a ton, and focus feels like heavy...

Camera Topics Re: IS-1 versus IS-Auto

I would guess that IS-1 is for combating shaking in still images mainly for low light, IS-2 is for when you are definitely panning, and IS-Auto is a general setting to detect the type of movement for...

I have been thinking along similar lines Dan. If the MKII is too expensive. Keep the E-M1 and selected lenses for more average subjects, for which it serves extremely well. But I'm holding off until...

It is fine right through including infinity, and in fact could be used as a 55mm walkabout lens. The disadvantage though is the number of times you have to wind it through 360 degrees...

Bob, I generally like your images, but my very first impression was that they are a little harsh, over-sharpened. Too much contrast for the subject, some softening would make all the difference....
