Clarification: Does this mean that Olympus can't fix the particular problem on your camera, or that they aren't servicing the E-5. I can't imagine it's the latter (and hope not).

Thanks! Adding the "diamond ring" shot. Was a second or two later than I wished but, still, is unique, and I'm glad to get it, smoke and all.

Astronomy/Long Exposure Solar Eclipse shots, August 21, 2017

I made the trip to Douglas in central Wyoming for the eclipse event. It was exciting, indeed. There were no clouds at the time, but the air was heavy with smoke from the huge forest fires in the...

Glad you like them! Distance: I suppose about 50 yards, but it's sort of hard to say. That first one is among my favorite shots.

Thanks, Diana. I just need to get out more to use it! This has been the least I've done for photography --life interferes!-- but do plan to get back at it soon.

Thanks for the note! Appreciate the suggestion. I take it you are referring to the snipe bg. I do like the others. I need to get out and do some more camera work; time flies.

Wildlife Young Magpies & Wilson's Snipe

Finally getting back to taking some pics. Young Magpies have fledged, learned to fly, but still stick together.
The Wilson's Snipe is unusally tame.

  17. Wildlife Re: Life in the Nest of Red-tailed Hawks (Includes Feeding)

Thanks. Rather difficult, yes. Main thing is you have to be in a blind and spend lots of time to get feeding shots.
  18. Wildlife Re: Life in the Nest of Red-tailed Hawks (Includes Feeding)

Many thanks for the encouraging words. I can even say that I, too, like how these turned out. --The 300/2.8 is one amazing lens!
