I say the recording is a fake.

Are you telling me that when the EM-1 was trying to focus you didn't let out even one expletive? Fake I say.

Micro 4/3 Re: e-M1 Lockups - does it occur on your camera

I had a half dozen or so lockups, when I first got the camera. Changing lots' of settings like you normally would do with a new camera is what I thought triggered it. Once I settled on the...

Thinking out loud from a now ex birder, fully realizing that it's just a development announcement so let's have a little fun.

    Lens Topics C-AF Issues

Just by looking at the pictures of the 300f4, I can tell you that the C-AF performance is going to suck.

You heard it here first folks.

Edit: In all seriousness, who is a lens like...

Business Topics Re: A Net Exodus?

For me it was, let's give it one more shot. Add to it the official Olympus statement about how it will autofocus the 90-250 like it should be focused. I really didn't expect worse performance for...

    Wildlife Re: Hawk Owls

If the eye is sharp, then the photograph is sharp. Example, image #3. The eye in most cases is what you want to focus on.
  10. Camera Topics Re: EM1 + Big Tuna&2x tele& autofocus = meltdown and an order of an E5

I've reached an agreement to sell my 300f2.8 and both teleconverters. A guy reached out to me on DPR who just happens to work for the same company as me and who just happens to live 5 minutes from my...

Camera Topics Re: EM-1 Fail: Must Be the Photographer

I can imagine lots of smooth surfaces, not a good match for the AF sensors. Isn't that why they made cross point sensors?

But Godfrey, let's stay on track here. The point of discussion is birds through the EM-1's EVF and the issues in doing so. I never said you could not follow a puck around in manual mode and get good...
  19. Camera Topics Re: EM1 + Big Tuna&2x tele& autofocus = meltdown and an order of an E5

You shouldn't have any issues shooting what you shoot. BIF is different and you don't have experience with that so you wouldn't understand. And that's okay. I love the EM-1 viewfinder, I think it's a...

  21. Camera Topics Re: EM1 + Big Tuna&2x tele& autofocus = meltdown and an order of an E5

With all due respect, showing images of birds against a solid blue sky, or captive birds that you know where the bird is coming from does not bolster your case. I don't have many wild falcon shots...

  23. Camera Topics Re: EM1 + Big Tuna&2x tele& autofocus = meltdown and an order of an E5

The bird images you keep referring to are average at best. Sorry, but the EM-1 does not cut it, even compared to the E-5. You can keep posting average to below average bif images expecting to make a...

The only thing that will stagger you with the m43 75-300 is how poorly it performs. It's a 6.7 lens at the long end. Do you know what this means for bird photography? Do you know how f6.7 affects...
