  1. Business Topics Re: Olympus is selling the camera part of itís business.

But they are in the business of turning around companies (financially) and selling them to others.

Hell, even Pentax found a buyer. Olympus is way bigger, and while the marketplace is saturated,...

A sad day indeed, but not entirely unexpected!

I wonder what's gonna come next, JIP will want to make money, but this is not an easy market to make money in. I wonder what their future strategy...

  4. Lens Topics Re: WOW - been away a long time, came back to sell my 150.

I also recommend getting the E-M1 II if you're looking to buy used, if you're looking to buy new - the E-M1 III is coming out soon, probably next month.

If Olympus would have come out with an E-7...
  5. Camera Topics Re: Old Timer looking for HELP from Fellow Old Timer

I'm not sure Olympus services DSLRs, but there's gotta be some kind of a electronics repair shop that repairs old electronics nearby.

    Re: Considering Selling

I personally sell stuff either on ebay, or locally for cash, so I don't have to deal with shipping.

In FB groups and such places, I find very little actually sells. Prices have to be really low...

I used the lens extensively during my travels some time ago. Even did a 4.5 month trip around the world with it. The picture quality of it is basically similar to what you would get out of a kit lens...

Honestly, Sony has been hitting home runs in the last year or two. The A7 III is a great camera. The A7R III is an even better camera. They have a lot of great lenses, and this is no doubt another...

Yeah, things have really died down!

  12. Digital Darkroom Re: When you need help you aways go home (help! Photoshop help!)

I do believe that the Java legacy version is another Java version in order to support programs for older operating system.

So just install the legacy Java and that's it.

    Adobe has switched to...

Well, the a7II is the new version of the a7, but the "grade" of the camera is the same. Its a consumer grade camera. People just have a difficult time wrapping their heads around the fact that a...

Chit Chat Re: Back to the E5

The Sony a7 is an entry level camera. Functionally, if you want to compare it with an Olympus camera, a good comparison would be the E-M10.

That said, only you can figure out what your needs are....

I prefer the color version, but IMO, the biggest problem here is her hand, especially elbow. Its just waaay too big and quite unflattering.
