Hi everyone, My name is John Parola but everyone calls me Mr.D (long story). I am a proud American but I live in Bangkok, Thailand with my wife of Saranya and two dogs, Milo and Poppi.
I have lived for extended periods in Beijing China, Sao Paulo Brazil and Istanbul Turkey also.

New to Olympus, but not to photography, I have been using Contax Cameras and Carl Zeiss lenses since 1981 and have an extensive collection of CZ lenses. I started my venture into digital photography with a Canon 20D and Canon lenses...what a disaster! Sold the Canon and bought a Nikon D70s still have it and I like it okay but it is too menu-centric for me coming from the Contax line of cameras. I played with an E-1 in Vietnam and loved it, so when the prices started to come down I bought one and really love it!

I am also a member of FM and DCRP forums under the user name “parolajd”. Looking forward to learning from everyone here and sharing experiences.
