    Thanks.

When I used to work for the USDA under a private contractor, I had to take pictures inside and outside of the grocery stores that I visited. I was told that an owner can refuse me access to the property, but cannot keep me from taking pictures of it from across the street.

Appreciate what we have, instead of worrying about what we haven't. Enjoy what is, before it isn't.

Sadly, sadly, sadly here in Canada photogs give up their copyrights if they shoot on assignment.

Right now my major client no longer wants to pay me for repeated use of images. They say once they receive the photos, they can use them as often as they want.
    They're half-right.
Going back to my opening sentence, had I shot "on assignment" then they would be the legal copyright owner.
But I only sell 'one-time use' licenses so legally, I retain ownership of my copyright.

I think it's important for Canadian photogs starting out, and people accepting assignments from Canadian clients under Canadian laws to be aware of this critical distinction between us and our US neighbours.
    (How ghetto is that!?)
