    Smile New member in Sweden

    Hi,

A week ago or so I joined Fourthirdsphoto. Now I have finally got down to presenting myself. I live in Gothenburg (the home of Volvo) on the west cost of Sweden. A lot of my photos in later years are taken in the south of Sweden where my wife and I own an old house for summer vacations and hobby restorations. My oldest slides are from 1959 (yes, I am an old man). Olympus entered my camera bag in the mid 70's with OM-1 and later OM-2. From that period I have lenses and other equipment that I attach to my E-300 with the OM adapter.

The attached picture is from Halloween 2005. The church is not green, but I think white balancing it to white would ruin the feeling of spookiness.

    Regards
    Stefan

    Hi Stefan,

I too am an "old man". When I was a young man, I met a young lady from Sweden who was in the United States working as an au pair for a family in our town. We dated for several months before she had to return to Sweden. She asked me to come to Sweden with her, but I chose not to go. Her father was an executive at Volvo and she assured me I could get a job there. I wonder what life would have been like if I chose to go.

I visited Sweden a couple of times around 1990 on business. I got to see Gothenburg and Stockholm as well as a few of the smaller towns. It's a beautiful place. The older part of Stockholm offers great photo opportunities.

I look forward to seeing some of your photos.

    Jim

    Hej Stefan.

    Välkommen till FTP!

I actually think we Swedes are over-represented here if comparing to our population.

    Hej Stefan,
I have only just recently joined myself and it seems like a nice place to be. I lived in Tygelsjo (mellan Malmo o Vellinge) for four years with my Sambo from 1996 - 2000 and we now have moved back to my home town of Adelaide Aust. Nice to have some Swedish influence on the site. By the way I'm not Swedish, just the name is Scandinavian as my mum's dad was Norwegian. Ha de ......
