    Default Storm damage

Yesterday we had a heavy storm in western Europe, we had a bit of damage, most of it to property of my wife's mother who lives nextdoor on the old farm.
A little report, the images speak for itself.

    Henk,

No one injured, I trust? The images sure speak for themselves.

I like the last 3 best, although I find it hard to choose between those 3.

A good record of a not so good experience Henk. You'll look back on these in years to come and smile, but not yet!

Sad story, Henk. Our garden now has several "water features" where there should not be any. Today I had to go work. Tomorrow I will check the damage.
Yesterday I helped the neighbours to save their fence.
I prefer a simple cold winter to this to warm stormy weather.

Thanks Dick we are fortunately o.k. because we stayed in the house, sadly the storm took 7 lives in the Netherlands and many more in the rest of Europe.

    Thanks Garry,Tony, Luc and Leonard.
I too prefer the freezing weather Luc, this winter is exceptionally warm Leonard, normal nighttemperature is around freezing point but we have nighttemp. of 9 deg. C, almost twice the normal daytemp. which is 5 deg. C!

It seems that the entire Northern Hemisphere isn't doing so well with storms this season. Sorry to see the damage, Henk, but I'm glad you and yours are all OK.

Best of luck with the repairs and cleanup.

Sorry to hear about the damage Henk, but glad that your family is okay. Hopefully this will be last of the big storms for a while.

Good shots of a bad situation. I was interested to see the tile roof; reminds me of the houses here in Japan. I assume the construction is post-and-beam. Back in my "home" country (NW USA), ice storms cause an immense amount of havoc when they visit. Beautiful but deadly.

Thank you Roger, Alex, William and Norman for your sympathy, it is really appreciated.

We're not through yet, at this moment another storm is growing, it is expected not to be as strong as the last one. Have to postpone the replacing of the tiles to next week, forecast says calmer and colder weather. I tried to replace the tiles yesterday but gave up when my ladder was blown over (I was not on it).

Norman: yes, it is a post-and-beam construction with tile battens, the tiles are not nailed but lie loose on the batten.

    Henk

Sorry for what is happening in north Europe Henk , here in Italy the Alps protect us fron the storm . I'm a little feared about my cottage in western Ireland but seems the storm only "soft touched" that area .

    Hope well all of you
