    Default WTB: good user OM-1n

I have several OM cameras, but alas, I don't have an OM-1n that I like to use. The two I have are both in near-mint condition and neither one of them have accurate meters.

    My criteria:

    1. Preferably chrome body
    2. Cosmetics: not to good, not too bad. I want it to have a few nicks in the black paint so I don't feel bad about using it. Preferably no dents and a pretty good bottom plate
    3. Accurate meter and shutter speeds
    4. Shoe 4
    5. Motor drive cap present

The first OM-1n I bought about 3 years ago was like this, but for some reason I sold it.

If anyone has one like this for sale I would love to see pictures of it.

Are you sure you have the right batteries?

The mercury batteries originally used have been banned. They produced a certain voltage that was very stable over time.

Common alkaline batteries of the same physical size have a different impedance characteristic, and will give inaccurate readings.

So if the problem is your batteries, any new OM-1 you buy will have the same problem.

John Hermanson can mod OM-1 cameras so they will work properly with commonly available batteries. Might be worth trying before buying a new one!

Hi, I actually have the correct batteries, so that's not the problem.

As I tried to indicate in my OP, the two OM-1's I have are in really, really nice cosmetic condition, so I don't really want to use them much, if at all. I'm looking for a nice gently used one (used, but not abused) that also has an accurate meter.

Oh, well. I guess it's back to ebay to keep looking.
