    So the designers of the system want to use any images I post on Flickr as raw data to post into someone else's image. I kind of think of that as theft of my intellectual property.

    That's about the way I see it too. Hopefully, websites that protect against right-click downloading also will protect against this kind of unauthorized mining.

    It seems like there's always some new software solution proposing to enable the incompetent.

    Not going to - sounds like they already have ! - taken a copy of the images.

    If they could search a database of 2 million images in their trials - that must have been on their own downloaded database of images, not by a real time internet connection ! That would take them forever.

    It may not be so bad though - maybe the owners will get royalties paid automatically ?
