Default bought a new camera for work....

its not an olympus unfortunatley, its a kodak z885. only thing I wish it had was a viewfinder oh, and IS. its a boon to play with iso 8000 is not that bad considering the use of it...not something you would use for anything other than a 4x6 but very neat camera none the less....

So many P&S cameras are dropping the viewfinder, and I find that very disappointing. I was watching my sister take some family shots with hers. She held the camera out far enough to see the screen, then leaned back to counterbalance . . . it looked very awkward, and it is not very stable. I've seen many women at the range holding a pistol this way. They complain about the accuracy of their pistol, but when you finally get them into the proper stance, they can almost drive tacks.

I'm not in the market for another camera right now, but when I have to replace my old Kodak, I'll definately want a camera with a viewfinder -- if I can still find one.

I refuse to buy any camera that does not have an optical viewfinder. Unfortunately for me, though, I do not represent the typical camera buyer. Just watch when people take snapshots with their P & S cameras. None of them use the OV. How they can ever take a decent picture is beyond me. Unless I am using a tripod, or supporting the camera on a ledge or something, I never use anything but the OV for framing my shots. I just can't hold the camera still enough.

Now, when I am taking pictures for ebay, and have my camera mounted on the tripod, that's when that lcd monitor is a godsend.

yep, thats the only thing I wish they kept on the camera. everything else is great however. and really its only for work. I have a 510 and others for real photography. the 885 is great to throw in my pocket while on snowmobile too.
