    Thanks for this comparison Alfredo.

It is interesting to see how exceptional the ZD 300/2.8 is and also to see how much focal length is lost when some of the lenses are are focused at close range. The ZD 300/4.5 on its own fared pretty well IMO but the ZD 50-200 + EC-14 wasn't as good asI would have expected.

Did you focus manually with Live-View?

    Cheers, Jens.

Interesting results. It's not surprising to see just how far the ZD 300 is above everything else, but it is surprising to see the $200 OMZ 300/4.5 beating the modern zooms.

The ZD50-200 + EC-14 really spanks the ZD70-300 too, so much so I wonder if the later's a bad copy.

Oof! The 50-200 + 2x looks horrible! My experience wasn't nearly that bad, although I didn't have a chance to compare it to a big prime, so I can't show results like yours to back up my memory.

Also, I found the 50-500 to improve greatly when stopped down from f/6.3 to f/8. Does yours exhibit a similar improvement?

Thanks for posting your comparison! There's not a lot of information like this available.
    Chris
