Very nice. I'm sure you'll enjoy your new lens. I take it those shots are looking south, away from St. Paul?
    Good shooting,

I'm surprised, the corners seem to have significant darkening. Did you do it deliberately, or something? It was more apparent in the thumbnails to me...

Don't you just love it? I have to say it is by far my most used and favorite piece of glass. It is an incredible lens and has great versatility! I don't mind the extra weight and size because I know it's made to extremely high specification!

I think the dark corners are because I had a cheap Filter on the lens.
I havent got a nice one yet but I will, I promise!

It is heavy Kegg But just like you said : it's made to extremely high specification!

I love it too, and now that I use it more it doesnt feel as heavy as before!

I havent tried it on a tripod if thats what you mean by the balance.

If I set it on flat surface and the bracket thing on it balances just fine but I did it with the ec-14 on, havent really tried without it.

The lens is 4 pounds. If you hand hold it, you have to center the lens weight on you hand. You don't even notice a camera hanging on the end of the lens.
    Good shooting,
