    Default I love f2.0 Lenses....

Really, people are always complaining about the DOF, and the lack of Fast lenses. Well, I don't really feel that as a critique.
So here is a collection of photos of my F2.0 lenses at the fish hatchery with Cody.

A near miss - not much DOF and a running son is hard to get.

Overall I have 1000's of photos at f2.0, but here are a few select shots.

Really Olympus has done a great job with these 3 lenses. Well worth every penny I paid.

A very nice collection of images. Notice how, after you have kids, you migrate from nature photography to family photography?

    Totally E B.
I use to shot a lot of nature, but now if I am not shooting for a client its nearly always family.
Plus I decided with 43photo to show mostly family photos, because usually I don't have permission to post client photos and its a good excuse to shoot family stuff.

We were at the Philadelphia zoo and I saw a 35-100 in the flesh. A woman was using it, probably with an E-510. I had the strange feeling of being a bit surprised simultaneously by how large and how small it was. Large comparing it to a typical lens, and small because with all the comments about how heavy it was, I expected it to be even bigger. Glass is pretty dense though .

I saw and fooled with the 14-35/2 for the first time a week ago. Not my idea of a lightweight or compact for travel but what a beautiful beast! I'd order one tomorrow if I could afford it.

That lens welded to an E-3... Could be all I need for half my work.

Those three lenses really cover just about everything.
Add the 7-14mm (Its in the bag for Ultra Wide Angle) and the 12-60mm (In the bag too, for A Backup, B "Macro", and C "all in 1 lens") and usually the 90-250mm stays in the car unless I am shooting birds, or very long distances.
A couple notes, with the above sample shots. I wanted to show the same Bokeh effects so have a picture of Cody Running down the path - which is quite easy to get a big view of infocus and out of focus and a close up of the same thing. So though I really like the shots creativity not really portraits. But more the smooth Bokeh of the lenses.

Finally With shooting ISO 100 - f 2.0, the shots on these beautiful sunny days are between 1/4000 and 1/6000 shutter speeds, so I had a few with the 14-35mm and the E-520 which were blown out. (The E-3 can go to 1/8000) I also felt that the 14-35mm didn't really "fit" on the E-520, like it does with the E-3. On the E-3 the 7-14mm and the 14-35 just seem to work and feel right. I guess "Balanced" I am attempting to be more connected to my camera as people often talk about "Feel" of a camera.

So where as I would call the E-3 a match the E-520 just didn't feel that way.

Great lenses, for sure. Nice photos, Tony, lots of good memories in the making there. Take lots, the little guys grow up in a hurry!

    Tony –

    RE: I love f2.0 Lenses ... :

As well you should! As the old saying goes: ‘Ya gets what ya pays for’ and in the case of each of the top-tier Zuiko lenses ya pays for the best – and that’s what ya gits.

As for nature photography, if you’re missing it, rest assured that once the little ones leave the nest there’s going to be plenty of time for nature photography. That is until the little ones begin having little ones and from the looks of things you’ve got a ways to go til that day comes.

If I had all 2.0 lenses, I'd only be taking "baby" pictures of the other lenses!
