Wondering what were your reasons for going with the 70-200 vs the 50-200?

excellent shots. Showed them to someone who said that the olympus simply "could not" take action pics and they were impressed as well.

It was simple. I had to have the fixed 2.8 aperture.

Weather sealing didn't mean much to me, I don't shoot in the rain. If I do, I'm using a cover.

Constant aperture and price. I know it's larger but that really doesn't bother me much.

Shots look much better than the ones I've seen already, how do you find the AF speed?

On a different note, could you reconsider your signature image? That combined with the text of your equipment belows it makes your posts huge which means a lot of scrolling to get through the thread.

    Nice shot,

My 70-200 arrived on Tuesday, but between work, bad weather, and a lack of photo opportunities I've only done a few test shots around the house. I'll post some outdoor stuff (hopefully) this weekend.

Looking pretty good...but please show a few more with a little bigger size if you can.

    Thanks in advance.

The thought of F2.0 at 200mm makes me warm and fuzzy inside.

Here are some samples of mine below....with flash. (E510+FL50+50-200mm) Nothing but Olympus. BTW...I love my 50-200 Oly but I would love to buy this Sigma if it can out do the Oly.

    Dan,

Here are the additional night shots I promised. I was at max ISO on my E-330 at 1600. In the best parts of the field I was only getting shutter speeds of 1/320 to 1/400. That's a little slow to stop most of the action, but I made due.

    OK....I'm interested in this lens.

Are there any of you out there that have both the 50-200 Oly and the 70-200 Sigma?

I wish there was a way to try before you buy (I know... wishful thinking)

    Thanks for posting them.

Any problems with front or back focusing? I have the Nikon-mount Sigma 50-150/2.8, and it has some backfocusing at 50 mm that goes away as you zoom in... but by 150 mm, it turns into a small amount of front focusing!
