    Default Assignment #21: Macro

While I am busy with little things, I am not required to do greater things.
    - St. Francis De Sales

There's a whole world that we're just too tall to see.

For this assignment, I'm not looking for an ultra-strict interpretation of 'macro', so even if you can't get a 1:1 magnification, get as close as you can and show us what you see. Look for the little things that might otherwise escape notice, and find the stories in the very small.

    Default Death of a leaf

As the tree cuts off the flow of
    nutrients in autumn, the chlorophyll
dies and the other elements in the
leaf can finally display their color
    for a few short days.

This is a maple leaf. The tower-like
structure in the lower right quadrant is
a gall formed around an insect egg.

It may not be proper for me to post here, because I do a great deal of close-up work of flowers. This little fellow is a clitoria. I forget its common name.
