Default SOLD: $679 Final Reduction Fuji S5 Pro BNIB

    Hi everyone,

Selling my backup Fuji S5 Pro, as I am building a Sony A900 full-frame system. It's actually brand new in box. Sealed, never opened. I don't even have a picture of the S5 Pro to post in the flesh, as I don't want to break the seal on the box. (Moderators, obviously this goes against the picture required rule... I could take a picture of the box and the seal and insert it in this post if desired).

Those of you who know about this camera know how unique it is... its dynamic range and Auto WB performance are unparalleled, and the tonality, colour, and skin tones even straight out of the camera from JPEGs are among the very best. Fuji has stopped producing this camera, and it is uncertain whether they will ever produce another dSLR ever again. Get a brand new one while you still can.

$780 USD $100 off FINAL REDUCTION $679 USD + shipping (I'm in Canada... usually costs about $20-30 to the US). Don't make me take this to fleabay! PM me if you're interested. PayPal only.

Please note the underscore between the "e" and the "d" in my username when sending a PM.

    Pics of the box:

Be an interesting deal, but, without any Nikon glass included, would wind up being a huge re-investment...

    Thanks for offering....

They're different beasts. The S5 Pro was designed as a wedding photographer / portrait camera with maximum dynamic range, natural colour and tonality, and consistent AWB in mind. It has slow continuous shooting speed in 400% dynamic range mode, so it is not for action / sports whatsoever. But few APS-C cameras can match it for DR, colour, tonality, and AWB consistency. It excels at specific tasks. It's called the WeddingMaster 2000 for a reason

The D90 is more of a generalist midrange APS-C camera with an offspring of the D300's sensor that is capable of HD video capture. It is capable of very good still images, but its video quality and functionality is lacking (AF is disabled while shooting video). Great high ISO performance, but DR, tonality, colour, and build quality are not quite at the S5 Pro's level. IMO, the price is a little expensive for what you get, as you are still paying that "new camera premium".

If you shoot portraits and/or weddings, require maximum DR, or are particular about the colour and tonality of your images, the S5 Pro is calling your name. However, if you want a camera that's designed for more general purposes or if high ISO performance is particularly important to you, the D90 is probably a better choice.
