    Default Orion Nebula phase deux

I had another go at my Orion Nebula captures. (Learning curve and all that.) I decided not to clone out the squadron of satellites that passed through my exposures (from 8 to 25 seconds so those aren't meteors - way too slow) because I thought it was kind of neat.

Hope you like it because it took me several hours of fiddling around to craft this dagum thing!!

    Cheers,
    Oly

I really like it and enjoy the shots you are getting with your scope setup. I always wanted to get some astro shots but can't afford the scope. I've thought about a cheaper Meade ETX90PE but wasn't sure I'd be able to get shots like this or not.

Any info you can offer would help out.

Absolutely outstanding Oly. The colors are spectacular.

I'm amazed that you get such clean shots being so close to a giant light polluting city. That and the fact that our desert air has a lot of particulates in it even on the low pollution days.

I read recently about Death Valley's problem with light pollution from Vegas. They had some good info about the problems we face with lighting up our nights in the cities. I'm surrounded by it and happy I can still see Orion. I can see the constellation, not the nebula though. I think they said that the majority of people can no longer see the Milky Way from their back yards anymore. I'm in that group.

If you don't stop posting these, I'll have to sell the Bigma and buy a telescope . I'll leave chasing the birdies to others.

    Seriously though, absolutely outstanding.

Love that image. Very nice indeed.

You wouldn't produce an image like that with an ETX90.

Yep, I like it. In fact I'm envious of your telescope and mount that provide you with the opportunity for several hours of fiddling. I can no longer afford that stuff, so I'm thinking of building a barn door mount so I can explore the skies with the Oly glass I already own.

Please keep taking us along on your learning curve!

Oly your astro photos you have been posting are great!

I was away from the City lights last weekend and the moon was not visible until after midnight and the sky was simply stunning - Next time, I'll have to try taking a series of shots and stacking them just to see how it all goes!
