    Default Minolta Rokkor-X 50mm f1.4

    Minolta 50mm f1.4
    serial 4224330
    f range 1.4 - 16
    focal range 1' - 30' - infinity
    6 blades
    minolta mount
    49mm filter

This only average in size for a 50mm despite the large hole it has for f1.4 aperture . The f stops runs from f1.4 to f16 in half stops. It is well built and performs very well, very smooth with a touch of firmness. I the fit and finish is like a very good kit lens. It shows no softness wide open but is difficult to focus because of the thin DOF. It is very very sharp stopped down. The colors and contrast are natural. The bokeh is extreme and very nice, it is soft and creamy. CA is very well controlled at all but wide open There is about 180 degree rotation on focus ring. The depth of field is paper thin at f1.4 and the is a lot of CA wide open but you have to love this lens for its speed and sharpness. I got this off ebay for cheap.

here are the samples, You will notice the first Daisies plate is in focus at the bottom and out of focus at the top. This is the f1.4 depth of field, what is in focus is sharp. The Green gnome is showing the bokeh at f8 and f1.4. The Tree shows the CA at 1.4 and f8

    Was this the PG version?

I had a Minolta MC Rokkor-X PG 50mm F1.4, Great lens, very soft wide open for portraiture, but stopped down could prove sharp enough for most purposes. I sold it recently. Your lens appears to work much the same. I found it difficult to MF with a soft lens at F1.4 though.

Mark, the Minolta lenses got better as time went on, with improved coatings and element designs. My MD 50mm f/1.7 from the early 1980s, although not quite as fast as the Rokkor-X MC f/1.4, is quite sharp and easy to focus using the E-510 viewfinder.

When I did this I used the Minolta adapter from jinfinance. I think it was around $45, one of his most most expensive adapters because I think he makes it or has it made just for him.

potraži na ebayu , al uglavnom koliko sam vidio ima adaptera ali sa ugrađenom lećom koja nešto smanjuje kvalitetu fotke

translation: search on ebay, but as i can see , there are minolta to nikon adapters , but with glass element which degrades IQ a bit
